Lady Lavada Thompson
Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother (gaga), godmother, auntie, friend, woman of God, sister in Christ, and First Lady is her description.
Lavada M. Thompson is a native of Oakland California, and the fifth child of eight siblings and the daughter of the late Roy W. Williams, Jr. and Missionary Lavada G. Williams-Gutierrez. Lavada is the granddaughter of the late, Bishop C.A. Perry and Mrs. Lavada Sue Perry, who is the founder and builder of the Perry Temple Church Of God in Christ in Oakland, CA. They were all disciplinarians, as well as being spirit-filled, God fearing and wonderful parents who raised her up in the way of holiness. She accepted Jesus Christ in her heart as Lord and Savior while sick in the hospital at age twenty-three, and later baptized with the Holy Ghost while attending a Holy Ghost meeting at the Holy Convocation in Memphis, Tennessee. She received her education in the Oakland Unified School District. She attended Barbizon School of Modeling and later received higher learning at Laney College, Chabot College, Vista College (Sign Language), and Shiloh Christian Bible College.
In the year of 1978, the Almighty God made it possible for her to be introduced to her husband Elder Ronald G. Thompson, Sr., the Pastor of the Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ. They have been married for thirty-eight years and are blessed with three wonderful children: Staci, Ronald Jr., Angela; and three grandchildren: Darren, Ross and Hayli Collier.
She considers herself an encourager to all she comes in contact with. She is fun loving and loves to be about her Father’s business at home as well as at her place of employment. She has served in God’s vineyard as a choir member, children’s Sunday School Teacher, Outreach participant and now First Lady of the Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ.
She has established herself as a career woman working as a Confidential Administrative Assistant at the Bay-Valley District Office at the United States Postal Service in Oakland, CA.
She finds it a blessing to serve God’s people alongside her husband at the Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ.
